Industrial Filter Maintenance Checklist
Daily, weekly and monthly checks for the hydraulic, coolant, compressor and dust-collector filters in a plant.
Daily
1. Check the pressure-drop indicators on the main hydraulic and lubrication filters. 2. Look at compressor and engine intake filters for heavy dust build-up. 3. Listen for pump noise that could mean a blocked suction strainer.
Weekly
1. Drain the water traps on compressed-air lines. 2. Skim tramp oil from coolant sumps and check the coolant filtration. 3. Check that dust collectors are cleaning and that their pressure drop is steady.
Monthly or quarterly
1. Take oil samples from critical hydraulic systems for analysis. 2. Replace heavily loaded pre-filters and intake elements. 3. Check the stock of critical elements, so a missing filter is never the reason a machine waits.
